Part III...Perfect Smile...
The title of this chapter sounds much more romantic than the first two chapters. I like this chapter. In the beginning, it talked about photography and it was nice for someone to express their great passion for a leisure activity. I am thinking that this is Nia, the author, expressing herself interest. She really describes anything from the deepest level, which I do sometimes and it really made me smile. It sounds as if she's in her own world and didn't care what people would think, say, or do. I strongly admire that. I feel like there are other things in this chapter that really intrigues my curiousity and it seemed like more love than lust. She mentions that there will be photo shoot and it features a "very handsome black man", as the book says. Her use of vocabulary is really amazing and sometimes I really have to double check if she meant what I understood, most of the time I'm right. Furthermore, the photo shoot is when Nia and the male model will take half naked photos, which I am guessing are just underwear or bikinis. I believe this will be fun and beneficial for the photographer, especially their works of art is born to a very beautiful picture. Nia mentions that half naked pictures are "illusion of nudity". Very true and interesting. It is truly entertaining when the photographer or agent that coordinated this event and have everyone work really close to each other. Next, Nia begins to tell the agent to show their work of art, the picture, to the half naked guy and to see how beautiful it is. And so, the half naked man appeared to be an exhibitionist. It came to my senses that this model was admiring the picture and loving himself more than the rest that was included. How annoying that would be right? Everyone has their time for being narcissitic. Surprisingly, the agent use that same word, narcisstic and used it against him, it was like he was a buzz kill. I've come to realize that this story is between the model and the agent, because how she continues to talk in the story. Apparently, the agent and the male models relationship grew from being good to something distasteful. You can always tell if some people are in a love-hate relationship. It really is kind of upsetting to see that you hate someone or something for lots and lots of reasons and your feelings are telling you otherwise. It's like your heart challenges your mind or vice versa. I am on the right path to this story and she had to be in that position, which totally sucks. I kind of feel sorry for her to be in that ridiculous position. For instance, she knows she hates him, but when they met again for another shoot, something got to her to notice his every angle, posture, movement, body, and the rest of his features, it really felt like a slow motion movement like in a movie of how a guy gets lost while staring at the girl he likes. If you were in that position, don't you just want to slap yourself and say hello! It's really funny. I believe this is where the title comes in, the perfect smile, that led to her weakness. Just by noticing everything about the two slowly is really entertaining and there is a movie that is similar to this, the relationship part of course. The movie is called "Life as we know it". They both relate to each other when they realize they're in love. Moving on, the model finally introduces his name, James. James is such a common character for a guy that carries that name. It's like they're automatically good looking. Anyways, James seemed like a guy who can control you as soon as he finds out your weakness and I believe that is going to happen. The new photo shoot was a bit more bare, but still have a tiny clothing on. As this as his advantage to flirt with her and making her vulnerable to his game. Obviously, it was working completely and she couldn't do a thing about it, but secretly admire him while taking the photos. James had the advantage of telling her what to do, so that he could work well with his photo shoots. Constantly requesting to make himself more comfortable. That would be so annoying and she knew it, but didn't mind. They're becoming annoying to me. The agent stood so strong like the character who played Eva in Deliver us from Eva and of course she completely lost it all, because she was enormously attracted to him. I completely understand and it really does suck and sometimes scary too. I felt that love was going to happen immediately and it did. It started from her getting to close while taking photos and I am aware an accidental falling will happen, which I was right. I really thought there were so many people working on the set, but it was just the two of them. It was really funny how she knew what was going to happen after falling on top of him, but I imagined what if he resisted, it would've been embarrassing. But the usual happens they fell for each other. Connections really is something in this world.
